July 6 - 13, 2014
The Edmonton and District Historical Society proudly presented the annual Historic Festival & Doors Open Edmonton, Many Voices, Many Stories, One City.
This year's Historic Festival & Doors Open Edmonton was focused on the history of the many cultures found in the Edmonton area and celebrated the heritage events that have enriched our community. Visitors enjoyed a variety of events, such as celebrating community milestones; exploring museums, archives and historic sites; and participating in bus or walking tours of gardens, natural areas, cemeteries and neighbourhoods.
Special Launch July 6th, 2014
The Launch of the 18th annual Historic Festival and Doors Open this year was a fabulous event. Ethno-cultural organizations were encouraged to present the story of their immigration to and settlement in Edmonton, community development in the city, involvement in city life, and contributions to the larger community. Visitors appreciated the importance of diversity in our history, and the contributions individual groups have made to the development of our city. EDHS extends heartfelt appreciation to the Edmonton Heritage Council for helping to make this day so successful.
