Alberta Railway MuseumThe Alberta Railway Museum, located in northeast Edmonton is an operating railway cleverly disguised as a museum. The museum is laid out as a small prairie railway yard with a station, water tower, maintenance-of-way building and of course lots and lots of trains! The museum is a hand-on, climb-on site where visitors can feel, see, touch and even smell Canada's railway past.

CKUA Radio On May 23, 1929, Canada's longest running public broadcaster sent its first radio transmission from the University of Alberta. In 1945 AGT began running the station and in 1955 CKUA moved to it current location in the 1912 built Alberta Block on Jasper Avenue. Presently CKUA broadcasts a wide variety of musical genres on 17 transmitters across the province and boasts one of the largest music libraries in the country.

Calgary and Edmonton Railway MuseumThe C & E Railway Station Museum is located in the residential heart of Old Strathcona along a former Railway line. The Museum is a replica of the original building that was built in 1891 by the Calgary and Edmonton Railway Company which served the community until 1907 when a larger station was built. The museum offers a fascinating history of the very first Railway Station in Edmonton. The extensive collection of artifacts and historical photographs resurrect memories of the exciting days when the first steam engines arrived in Strathcona, bringing thousands of settlers to the area.

City of Edmonton ArchivesLocated in the historic Prince of Wales Armouries Heritage Centre, the City of Edmonton Archives is a public research facility housing civic government and private records documenting Edmonton's history. Archival materials include paper records, oral history tapes, photographs, film, video recordings, computer records, correspondence, diaries, and personal histories. Everyone is welcome to use the research room.

Edmonton Public Schools Archives and MuseumBefore the Legislature Building there was McKay Avenue School: tour this carefully restored 1905 brick school, the site of the first session of the Alberta Legislature. Father Lacombe ChapelIn 1861, Father Albert Lacombe supervised the construction of a log building to serve the new St. Albert Roman Catholic Mission. This simple chapel. Alberta's oldest building, became the centre of the thriving French speaking Métis settlement of St. Albert. Visit the restored chapel and hear stories of the time. See the crypt where Father Lacombe, Bishop Grandin and Father Leduc are buried, stroll past the grotto through the cemetery and enjoy the view from atop Mission Hill.

Fort Saskatchewan Museum and Historic SiteEstablished in 1958, the three-acre Fort Saskatchewan Museum and Historic Site is located in the heart of Fort Saskatchewan, near Legacy and Jarvis Parks and the historic CN Station. There are eight heritage buildings furnished with period pieces that form a picturesque historic village serenely overlooking the North Saskatchewan River and a collection focusing on the Northwest Mounted Police and the settlement era dating back to 1875.

Grace Lutheran ChurchThis "A" frame stlyed house of worship was build in 1954 to replace the previous white framed church. It features a full basement, attached manse, education wing, church offices, gymnasium, parish hall, kitchen and social room. The original Casavant Brothers pipe organ was replaced in 1994 with a 21 rank tracker organ which features a full pedal board and over 1100 pipes which is situated in the balcony.

Molstad HouseMolstad House is a two-story brick and wood house that was built in 1912 for Edmonton realtor Edward H. Molstad and his wife Addie. The house was designed by a Norwegian architect and still reflects the Edwardian era. In 1997 Molstad House was restored to its original glory and it is historically designated by the City of Edmonton and the Province of Alberta.

St. Joachim Catholic ChurchEglise Catholique St. Joachim is considered the mother church of all other Catholic churches in Edmonton. Construction of the Oliver-area house of worship began in 1898; the first service at St. Joachim was held on December 8, 1899. Now, 110 years later, the 400-seat church remains one of the most historically important and precious buildings remaining from a former grouping of large Catholic institutions.

Telephone Historical CentreThe Telephone Historical Centre is home to a collection of telecommunications equipment and artifacts that tell the story of how the telephone came to Edmonton in 1885, less than 10 years after Bell patented his invention. The museum collection highlights the evolution of the telephone from 1885 to 1995 when the City-owned system was sold to Telus. The theatre presentation is lead by Xeldon, the robot telephone repairman who tells an entertaining story of the telephone in Edmonton.

The Armoury Youth CentreThe Connaught Armoury was built in 1911 for the use of the 19th Alberta Dragoons, B Squadron, who fought in both World Wars including the battle at Vimy Ridge. The building is the oldest and only Cavalry-Style Armoury in Alberta. It is now used for the Youth Emergency Shelter who provide free daytime programs for at-risk and homeless youth.
