2007 Travel Alberta 'Friends of Tourism' Award

The Friends of Tourism Alto award recognizes any not-for-profit group, corporation, organization or institution, which through its activities, supports and has made significant contributions to the provincial tourism industry.

The goal of the Edmonton and Athabaska District Historic Festival is to prompt Albertans and visitors to explore parts of northern Alberta that they might not normally visit.

"We're thrilled," said an ecstatic Linda Collier, festival advisor, who hugged her Alto by herself but graciously said 104 people should have been on the stage next to her. "This Alto symbolizes a lot of numbers...our 104 partners, our 52,000 visitors, 2,280 volunteer hours and a huge geographic area."
